On January 4, GMC’s subsidiary Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Machinery Construction Group won the bid for a large-scale urban upgrading and reconstruction project in Zhanjiang, that is, the General Contracting Project of Design and Construction of Guangken Garden under the Project of Transforming Old Towns, Factories, and Villages by Zhanjiang Nongken No.1 Machinery Co., Ltd. The amount of money of winning the bid is about RMB 1.711 billion, and the total bidding period of 1,985 calendar days.
The project is located at 47 Cunjin Road, Chikan District, Zhanjiang. Flanked by roads, the project enjoys a wide view and convenient transportation. Its east and south are close to Wenzhang Village and Chikan substation, its north is near Machi Road, the gas station, and its west is next to the Litang–Zhanjiang Railway. The project covers a total area of 131,883 square meters, including residential land of 100,980.2 square meters, commercial land of 2,200.8 square meters, road land of 10,702 square meters, and educational land of 18,000 square meters. The gross floor area totals about 507,586 square meters, mainly for housing, commerce, basements, primary schools, and kindergartens.
The project boasts obvious geographical advantages and good accessibility to traffic networks, in a mature comprehensive urban design environment. As the central urban area of the open coastal city of Zhanjiang, Chikan District integrates the economic, transportation, trade, and cultural centers, and is one of the most advantageous areas in Zhanjiang. The district is going all out building itself into the Zhanjiang urban reception hall, the central business district, and the best area.
After the completion of the project, the living environment, living quality of residents, city landscape, and regional supporting facilities can be improved. The project can promote urban development, and facilitate the renewal and transformation of villages in the city, and old villages, and shantytowns.
