Recently, the China Construction Industry Association issued the Notice on Announcing the Results of the 7th BIM Competition for the Construction Industry. GMC's two achievements, "BIM Plus Informatization Application in the Construction Stage of the Infrastructure Project (Phase I) (Pingxi Resettlement Area—South Area) of the Airport Economic Industrial Park in the Surrounding Area of the Expansion Project (Phase III) of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport" and "Application of BIM Technology in the Whole Construction Process of Plot AT090962 in the Starting Area of Guangzhou International Financial City", won the Third-class Achievement of the Group for the Comprehensive Application of BIM Technology.
The Infrastructure Project (Phase I) (Pingxi Resettlement Area—South Area) of the Airport Economic Industrial Park in the Surrounding Area of the Expansion Project (Phase III) of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was undertaken by GMC Engineering Business Unit. This project built a smart construction site platform that integrated production, progress, quality, safety, technology, labor, and other subsystems. Among them, the independently developed GJS construction organization intelligent system, tower crane layout module, tower crane anti-collision system, and labor real-name system can effectively improve the quality and efficiency of project construction. Up to now, the Expansion Project (Phase III) of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport undertaken by GMC Engineering Business Unit has won three national BIM awards and one provincial BIM award.
The project of the Plot AT090962 of Guangzhou International Financial City, undertaken by GMC's subsidiary, Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Machinery Construction Group Co., Ltd. and located in the core zone of the starting area of Guangzhou International Financial City, is a landmark super grade-A office building in Guangzhou International Financial City in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. As a pilot demonstration project of BIM technology in Guangzhou, this project adopted the concept of "big design" to promote the construction drawing design of architecture, structure, electromechanics, and other aspects as a whole and realize the synchronous development of design deepening, construction organization design, and construction scheme design. In the process of design deepening and collision inspection with the BIM model, engineering personnel can find drawing problems in advance. In addition, this project has also established a "JSTI" construction safety and emergency management system to display the risk location, patrol inspection and hidden danger rectification and predict risks through data analysis. The project has won five BIM awards, i.e. the Second-class Achievement of the 3rd CIC BIM Competition of the China Association of Construction Enterprise Management, the First Prize of the 2nd Building Information Modeling (BIM) Technology Application Competition of the China Information Industry Association, the First Prize of the 4th "SMART BIM" Competition of the Guangdong Urban Architecture Society, the Third-class Achievement of the 1st BIM Application Achievement and Exchange Activity of the Construction Industry of the Guangdong Construction Industry Association, and the Excellence Award of the 11th "Longtu Cup" National BIM Competition of the China Graphics Society.
