Recently, the China-assisted Civil Service Hospital Upgrading Project in Nepal, undertaken by Guangzhou Municipal Construction Group Co., Ltd. (GMC), successfully passed the final acceptance of construction by the expert team appointed by the Agency for International Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Commerce of PRC. The project quality was evaluated as a qualified level and the project management was rated as an excellent level.
Located in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, the Civil Service Hospital of Nepal, which was completed in 2008, is a large-scale comprehensive public hospital. Because it survived the 2015 Nepal M8.1 earthquake, the hospital was praised by local media as a sturdy building and became the main hospital for treating the injured during the earthquake.
The China-assisted Civil Service Hospital Upgrading Project in Nepal is one of the 25 post-disaster reconstruction projects that the Chinese government has pledged to help Nepal in five major fields, including medical and health care. As the general contractor of the aid project, GMC has strictly implemented the state's management requirements for foreign aid projects. Based on the strategy of "overall design, step-by-step implementation" and the policy of "high standards and strict requirements", it has overcome many difficulties and successfully fulfilled the construction task, creating a new urban general hospital with reasonable functional zoning, clean and beautiful environment, efficient and orderly mechanism, advanced medical technology, and convenient medical treatment and visit.
The upgraded Civil Service Hospital of Nepal will become a famous card of Kathmandu, further highlighting the quality of China's foreign aid projects and becoming a bridge of affection between the two peoples.
