In August 2020, Chimelong Marine Science Museum project (also known as Chimelong marine science park), which is designed by Guangzhou Design Institute (GZDI) under Guangzhou Municipal Construction Group Co., Ltd. (GMC) and other design organizations at home and abroad, obtained the Certificate of Green Building Design Label issued by Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guangdong Province and LEED Gold Level Pre-Certificate issued by U.S. Green Building Council after expert review, and has become a model of green and low carbon building for large theme park.
Chimelong Marine Science Museum project is located on Hengqin International Leisure Tourism Island, Zhuhai, facing the Macao Special Administrative Region across the sea, which is an important strategic measure of Chimelong Group Co., Ltd. to implement the decisions and arrangements for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The project covers a total floor area of 390,000m2, with a height of 60m, and nearly 9,000 tons of steel is used for roofing. The design concept is inspired by "spaceship", and the streamlined shape makes the building full of sense of future and technology. Adhering to the concept of nature, ecology, environmental protection and conservation, the project integrates animal exhibition, animal living environment display, animal science education, rare animal breeding, show performance, amusement, catering, retail and other functions, and will provide visitors with an unprecedented all-round innovative experience, and become the world's largest new popular science park with the highest standard.
